[Commented] Composition 1 [Secret Door]

“Leeroy and Isaac, can you help me to carry these stacks of books to the staff room?” Mister Tan said. Isaac and I stood up, carried the stacks of books and sped up the stairs. We reached the entrance of the staff room early as Mister Tan had not reached yet. After a short conversation, I noticed a small pathway. [where is this small pathway? beside the staffroom entrance? please describe accordingly]

“What is this?” I questioned as I pointed towards the direction of the pathway.

“I’m not sure. I’ve never seen this before. Let’s go find out.” Isaac replied. At the end of the pathway was a large, metal door, like those of a bomb shelter. It had a ventilation grill above the door and a huge locking mechanism but was locked-up with the a number lock like the other staff room doors. The iron door had started to rust due to some scratches on the white paint. It was mysterious as there was no other door like this around. [good to describe] We felt intrigued [good use of word] and tried to see what was inside by reaching out jumping and peeking through to the ventilation grill but we were not tall enough. We decided to ask around about the door the next day. We were determined to find out more about this mysterious secret door.

The next day, we asked several students and teachers, including Mister Tan about the door. Some students gave ridiculous answers, such as it contained a ghost being haunted. The teachers did not know what was inside and told us that it was would be better if we did not poke stop poking around. However, our classmate, Jeff, said that if we wanted to know what was inside, we could. He said that he knew the password of every staff room door and that door may have the same code too. [why did Jeff have the pass code?] We decided to meet up after school to crack the mystery.

After school,  Jeff, Isaac and I rushed up to the floor where  the iron door was. Isaac and I had to look out for any teachers passing by while Jeff inputs the code. “CLINK! SCREEECH!” The door screeched as Jeff opened the door. It was surprising that no teachers noticed us due to the loud sound. We were excited and peered into the darkness. We stepped into the room cautiously. “Ouch!” I said as I bump into something. “What is this?”

“Hey! What are you kids doing here?” a voice bellowed. When we turned around, we saw our school janitor. “Get out of the janitor closet now!” he ordered.
