The story starts with a girl, Sandra, arguing with the writer, then dashing out of the school crying. They were having a Mathematics Test that morning and the writer found that Sandra, a excellent math student, was cheating. When the she confronted Sandra, she argued that it was none of her business but also pleaded not to expose her and she complied.
The next day, the writer decided to report on her as she felt it would not be better if she covered it up.
After arguing with the writer, Sandra immediately got hit by a car. When the writer found out, she felt guilty and ran towards the seaside to grief.

It was raining that day. The writer's grandfather was in the hospital and was just pronounced dead due to throat cancer. The writer's grandfather worked as a labourer all his life and worked hard for the family. He would deliver sacks of rice without care of the weather. The writer's grandfather was a humble man who never grumbled. He was also a friendly and cheerful man who would teach the writer about his experiences.
