At the dinner, they both decided to bet that if Schofield won, he would receive two of Pratt's houses and if Pratt won, he would receive the hand of Mike's daughter,Louise in marriage. Leeroy, please see below for the comments on your summary:
ReplyDelete1. [first sentence] Where did Mike invite the narrator and the gourmet to? What are their relationships? Are they good friends? Please consider all these points to help your reader better understand the story.
2. [second sentence] Please rethink how to restructure your second sentence. I think you meant to write,"During the recent dinners that they had together, Richard and Mike were always betting on whether Richard could identify the wine served. Richard had always turned out to be the winner.
3. [third sentence] "rare wine in which made him believe" - please re-write this sentence. It is wrong.
4. [fourth sentence] this sentence should be separated like this: "At the dinner, both of them decided to bet again. If Mike won the bet, he would....". Please correct.
5. [fifth sentence is fine]
6. [sixth sentence is too long] break it into 2 simpler sentences ending at the word "study" for the first sentence. Continue the rest in a new sentence.
Leeroy, this summary is too short (i did say it should be >200 words right?) - there should be more details in order for readers to clearly understand what the story is about. You have to keep the names consistently, and address them by their first names (i.e. Mike and Richard).
Please create another post on corrections for this summary. I want to see this as well as the other 2 articles due yesterday and today.
